Terms of Service
These terms govern all use of Client Check. By creating an account you agree to them in full.
1. Who may submit records
Accounts and submissions are limited to businesses and to individuals authorised to act on a business's behalf. Every record must arise from a real, completed or attempted commercial transaction between the submitting business and the named client. Consumer-to-consumer, second-hand, or speculative reports are prohibited.
2. Truthfulness attestation
Each submission requires an explicit attestation. The attestation you accept reads:
I attest that the information in this review is true and accurate to the best of my knowledge. I understand that I am solely responsible for the content of this review and agree to indemnify Client Check for any claims, damages, or legal costs arising from this content, as outlined in the Terms of Service.
We record the attestation text and version, the submitting account, the submission timestamp, the originating IP address, and the browser user agent. These records may be produced in response to lawful requests or in defence of a legal claim.
3. Your content, your liability
You retain responsibility for everything you submit. You warrant that your statements are true, that opinions are clearly framed as opinions, and that you hold documentation supporting factual claims. You agree to indemnify Client Check against claims, damages, and costs arising from content you submit.
4. Our role as a platform
Client Check hosts content submitted by third parties and does not adopt, endorse, or verify the truth of any statement unless a record is expressly marked as having documentation reviewed. A "Verified" badge means we received supporting documentation consistent with the record; it is not a legal finding.
5. Prohibited content
- Knowingly false, retaliatory, or coerced statements.
- Government identifiers, financial account numbers, health data, or dates of birth.
- Threats, harassment, slurs, or calls for others to contact the named client.
- Records about minors, employees, or non-commercial personal disputes.
- Content submitted in exchange for payment or to manipulate a competitor.
6. Right of response and disputes
Any named client may claim their listing and publish a response, which appears on the same page as the original record. A client may also file a formal dispute. During review we may annotate the record, request documentation from the submitting business, and — where a record is unsupported, prohibited, or withdrawn — amend or remove it. Amended records are labelled accordingly.
7. Account termination
We may suspend or terminate accounts that submit false records, abuse the dispute process, evade removals, or scrape the platform. Fees paid for removed records are not refundable where removal follows a breach of these terms.
8. Fees
A business's first record is free. Every additional record is charged per submission as a one-time $5 fee; there are no subscriptions or recurring charges. Fees pay for platform access and review of your submission, not for a particular publication outcome.
9. Disclaimers and limitation of liability
The platform is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. Records are not consumer reports and must not be used as the sole basis for credit, employment, insurance, housing, or similar eligibility decisions. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our aggregate liability is limited to the greater of the fees you paid in the preceding twelve months or USD 100.
10. Changes
We may update these terms. Material changes will be announced in-product, and continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
